1About these terms
1.1These Website Terms & Conditions apply to your use of www.loyals.uk, including our guides, videos, free tools and calculators, downloads and enquiry forms (together, the “Website”). The Website is run by LOYALS Accountants & Business Consultants (“LOYALS”, “we”, “us” and “our”), which is a trading name. If you contract with us for professional services, the company that provides them is named in your Letter of Engagement, together with its registration details and its VAT number.
1.2By using the Website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Website.
1.3These terms cover the Website only. Our accountancy and advisory services are governed by our Terms of Business, together with the Letter of Engagement you sign. Those terms replace any earlier terms and conditions for our services, and if there is ever a conflict between them and these terms about a service we provide, the Terms of Business apply.
1.4Please read these terms alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal data collected through the Website.
2Using the website
2.1You may use the Website for lawful purposes only, and in a way that does not infringe anyone else's rights or stop them from using it.
2.2You must not:
- copy, scrape or harvest content or data from the Website by automated means;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the Website, our systems or anyone else's data;
- introduce viruses or other harmful code;
- use the Website to send spam or misleading enquiries; or
- pretend to be someone else when you use a form or tool.
2.3We try to keep the Website available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of faults. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time, and we may block access where we think these terms have been broken.
3Information on the website is general
3.1Our guides, articles, videos and other content are general information about UK tax and accounting. They are not personal advice, and reading them does not make us your accountant or create any engagement between us.
3.2We aim to keep our content accurate and up to date, and where a rule or rate changes each year we say which tax year or date it applies to. Tax law, rates and thresholds change, and HMRC may take a different view, so please check the position for your own circumstances before you rely on anything, and take advice from us or another qualified adviser.
3.3Examples and figures on the Website are illustrations unless we say otherwise. They are not a promise of what you would save or pay, and they are not a prediction of results for any individual business.
3.4We do not give investment, mortgage, pensions or insurance advice. Where our content mentions those subjects, it is for general context only.
4Free calculators and tools
4.1Our calculators and other free tools give illustrative estimates based on the figures you enter and the rates and rules built into them. They are meant to help you plan, not to replace advice.
4.2A result depends on the accuracy of what you enter and on assumptions such as the tax year, where you live and your circumstances. No tool can take account of everything that may affect your position, so please treat a result as a starting point and check it before you make a decision.
4.3We update our tools as rates change, but we cannot promise that a tool reflects the very latest change. Please check that a tool matches the tax year you are interested in.
4.4If you would like a calculation checked against your own records, talk to us and we will tell you whether we can help.
5Enquiries and becoming a client
5.1When you send an enquiry through a form, by email, phone or WhatsApp, or book a call, you are asking us to contact you. It does not create an engagement, and we are not responsible for any filing or deadline until you have become a client.
5.2To become a client you complete our online onboarding form, with proof of identity and proof of address. We review what you have sent and finish our checks, and where we can act for you we issue a Letter of Engagement, which you review and sign. Only then do our Terms of Business apply to the services.
5.3Please do not send identity documents, bank details or other sensitive information through the contact forms, email or WhatsApp before you are a client, other than through our onboarding form. We will tell you how to send information securely when the time comes.
5.4We reply to enquiries Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm, and aim to answer within one working day, that is Monday to Friday other than public holidays in England.
5.5Please give us accurate details when you complete a form, so that we can contact you, and tell us if you would prefer us not to contact you in a particular way.
6Our content and brand
6.1The Website, including its text, guides, tools, designs, graphics, videos, logos and the LOYALS name, belongs to LOYALS or is used with the permission of its owners, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
6.2You may view the Website, print or download pages for your own personal or business use, and share a link to any page. You may not copy, republish, sell or distribute our content, or use our name, logos or branding, without our written permission.
6.3Downloads, templates and checklists we make available are for your own use. You may not resell them or present them as your own work.
6.4If you send us material, such as a review, a photo or a testimonial, you confirm that you have the right to send it, and you give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it. We will not publish your name or your story without your written permission.
7Links and third-party content
7.1The Website may link to other websites, such as government guidance, social media profiles and review sites. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
7.2Reviews, ratings and other third-party content shown on or linked from the Website are the views of the people who wrote them, not of LOYALS.
7.3If you link to the Website, please do so fairly and lawfully, and do not suggest that we endorse you without our agreement.
8Privacy and cookies
8.1We use personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy. That includes data from forms, calls and messages, and data about how the Website is used.
8.2The Website uses cookies and similar technologies, for example to keep it working, to understand how it is used and, where you allow it, to measure our advertising. The Privacy Policy explains what we use and how you can control it.
9Our responsibility for the website
9.1Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
9.2The Website, its content and our free tools are provided free of charge, for general information, and as they are. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that they are complete, accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.
9.3If you use the Website for the purposes of your business, then to the extent the law allows we are not liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, that arises from your use of the Website or from relying on its content or tools, including loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings and any indirect or consequential loss. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss that was not foreseeable or for any business loss.
9.4We take reasonable care to keep the Website free of harmful code, but we cannot guarantee it. Please use up-to-date security software when you browse.
9.5None of this changes what we agree in a Letter of Engagement. Our responsibility for professional services is set out in our Terms of Business.
10Concerns and complaints
10.1If you have a concern about the Website or our content, tell us at kris.nick@loyals.uk or on 07450 258 975, and we will look into it. For a complaint about our services, our Complaints Procedure applies.
10.2Please tell us if you think anything on the Website is inaccurate or out of date. If you believe that content infringes your rights or is unlawful, send us the details so that we can review it promptly.
11Changes to these terms
11.1We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law, the Website or our services. The version and date are shown at the foot of this page, and the current version applies each time you use the Website.
11.2Changes to the terms that apply to existing clients are made under our Terms of Business.
12General and contact
12.1These terms, and any dispute arising from your use of the Website, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the place where you live.
12.2If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues. If we delay in enforcing a right, we have not given it up. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
